Indigenous Literacy Day fundraiser

02 October 2016

On Wednesday the 7th of September staff and students came dressed up as a book character for a gold coin donation in support of the     Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

Characters on the day included Wally, some wonderful wizards, Wimpy Kids, Matilda, and we discovered that students at LSC  really enjoy reading Manga as several came dressed as a Manga character.

We also held a Great Book Swap where participants bought in a loved book from home, to swap, and a gold coin to be able to take home   another book to enjoy.

$214 was raised which will buy new books for young Indigenous children in remote communities. A big thank-you to everyone who contributed to this fundraiser.
