The Year 11 Outdoor Education class went on an excursion to Lake Mountain on Friday August 26th. They left at 5-30am and returned at 6.45pm – a BIG DAY! After a lot of rain in the days preceding the trip, it snowed all day and the temperature was minus one degree celsius.
It was the first snow experience for many of the students. Students learned to walk, stop and go downhill on cross-country skis. One injured student, unable to ski, donned snow shoes for the day.
I got to know people on the trip; I had done it before, but I had fun - Ilesha W
I learned some skills like walking on the snow - Tylah E
It was even fun just walking around and it was fun watching the other people fall over. It was a good experience – James G
It was pretty sick; it was physically hard, especially when I fell over and got kneed in the head! – Corey H
