LARA SECONDARY COLLEGE

Disability Inclusion at Lara Secondary

At Lara Secondary, we are committed to supporting all students through individualised and inclusive education. Every term, in Week 3, we hold Student Support Group (SSG) meetings to develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that set achievable goals in areas such as learning, behaviour, attendance, and focus.

We offer various support services, including connections to Student Support Services (SSS), Wellbeing, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Psychology. Our programs, such as I CAN, MacqLit, Quick Smart, Hands-on Learning, Social Stencil, and Bungi, provide targeted interventions. Additionally, our ConnectEd program offers intensive support for students who require assistance with learning and behaviour regulation.

For students requiring additional support, we can initiate a Disability Inclusion Profile (DIP), which is a structured process involving 10 weeks of frequent and intensive modifications and interventions. This ensures that students receive the best possible support tailored to their needs.

At Lara Secondary, we believe in fostering a learning environment where every student can access the learning and thrive.
