At Lara Secondary College, we strive to create an environment student voices are heard and respected and students are empowered to be agents in their individual learning journey. Our staff, students and college community work together to provide our students with the opportunity to play a leading role in managing their learning.
As part of our commitment to promoting student voice and agency, students are able to take part in a range of formal and informal leadership roles through the Be Bold, Be Heard program which aims to involve students to lead improvement initiatives in their school and community, our Student Leadership team (SLT) and our Student Representative Council (SRC).
The SLT consists of Year Level Captains at Years 7-11, our College Captains and Vice Captains at Year 12, and our Junior and Senior House Captains from each of our four houses, while the SRC consists of the our Year Level and College Captains, and other students on an opt-in basis that want to contribute to developing a positive school environment.
We welcome applications from all students and are excited for the expansion of our Student Leadership model in the future, in order to ensure all of our students Realise Their Potential.
