Student Supports > Wellbeing

At Lara Secondary College we are dedicated to fostering the mental and emotional wellbeing of our students. Our experienced Student Wellbeing Team includes a Student Wellbeing Coordinator, Student Wellbeing Officers, a Mental Health Practitioner, and a School Nurse, who work together to provide tailored support. Students can access individual counselling sessions, as well as participate in school-wide wellbeing activities and programs aimed at promoting a healthy, positive school environment.

We understand that every student’s needs are unique, and we are committed to connecting students with the right support. In addition to the services offered within the school, we can refer students to external mental health services, for assessments and specialised mental health support. The school has established partnerships with The Geelong Project (Meli), Puzzle Piece Psychology, and the Enhancing Mental Health in Secondary Schools Program (Headspace), who offer on-site services to support our students’ mental health and wellbeing.

The Student Wellbeing Team is also available to support parents and guardians by offering advice and referrals to relevant agencies and external services, helping families address any concerns that may be impacting their child/young person.
